Wipro Limited will introduce a generative artificial intelligence (AI) center of excellence (CoE). The Indian Institute of Technology Delhi and the center have partnered to create the facility. Its main goal is to make it easier for basic and applied generative AI research to be conducted. The center will be crucial in developing talent and pushing the limits of excellence in this field. A cornerstone of the Yardi School of Artificial Intelligence (ScAI) at IIT Delhi will be this new center of expertise.

The collaboration is a part of Wipro’s $1 billion commitment to fostering innovation in emerging technologies and driving AI-led innovation as part of the Wipro ai360 ecosystem.

The Center of Excellence will develop into a center for innovation. Large-scale real-world problem-solving will be the focus of collaboration between IIT Delhi graduate students, Wipro researchers, and the ScAI faculty. To create novel solutions leveraging AI, machine learning (ML), and other cutting-edge technologies, these teams will work closely together.

“Collaborating with the eminent and multidisciplinary faculty at IIT Delhi and its research partner ecosystem will help us realize our vision of Engineered Prosperity faster,” said Ajay Chander, head of research and development at Wipro Limited.

The director of the Yardi School of AI at IIT Delhi, Professor Mausam, said, “By establishing this Center of Excellence, our students will acquire invaluable insight into issues relevant to business and will directly experience how their technological know-how translates to commercial situations. Our collaboration with Wipro will benefit both parties and considerably develop India in these vital new technology domains.
