Allocation of Top Services & the cutoff marks

The posts are allocated to each aspirant based on the vacancy and their category. If you wish to get into a particular service, you need to know the minimum rank you need to reach your goal. Suppose you belong to an OBC category; you can target getting a level of at least 450 to get into the IAS merit list. In contrast, a general category student must obtain a rank above 90 to get there.

Indian Administrative Service (IAS)

Indian Police Service (IPS)

  2. The IPS officers are given the training at the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Police Academy situated in Hyderabad.
  3. The IPS officers are allotted senior positions in the Police service.
  4. The IPS officers also occupy senior positions in RAW, IB, Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), etc. The IPS officers are given the training at the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Police Academy situated in Hyderabad.

Indian Forest Service (IFoS)

  1. Indian Forest Service is one of the constituents of All India Services.
  2. The highest post of IFoS officers working with the Central Government is Forests’ Director General (DG).
  3. The highest post of IFoS officers working for the State Government is the Principal Chief Conservator of Forests.
  4. Indian Forest Service Cadre serves under the Ministry of Environment Forest and Climate Change.
  5. The IFoS officers will also work at numerous organizations like the Food and Agricultural Organization (FAO).

Indian Foreign Service (IFS)

  1. IFS officers start their training at LBSNAA and then move on to Foreign Service Institute in New Delhi.
  2. These officers handle the foreign affairs of the country.
  3. It is amongst the most sought-after services in Group’ A’ civil services.

Indian Audit and Accounts Service (IA&AS)

  1. The IA&AS is amongst the most popular positions of Group’ A’ civil services.
  2. Their training begins at NAAA in Shimla.
  3. This cadre serves under the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG).

Indian Civil Accounts Service (ICAS)

  1. This cadre serves under Group ‘A’ of civil services.
  2. They work under the Ministry of Finance.

Indian Corporate Law Service (ICLS)

  1. This cadre comes under Group ‘A’ service that operates under the Ministry of Corporate Affairs.
  2. Their main objective is to govern the corporate sector in India.

Indian Defense Accounts Service (IDAS)

  1. This service functions under the Ministry of Defense.
  2. The officers of this cadre are initially trained at CENTRAD in New Delhi. Later on, at NIFM, the National Academy Of Defense Financial Management Institute located in Pune.
